About Us.
We're a family of four who've always cherished new experiences, travel, and challenges, but living in downtown Toronto and working corporate 9-5s left us feeling like we were missing out on life's adventures; despite being content, there was a lingering sense of longing for something more, so, one day, we made a bold decision to sell everything, pack our SUV, and head to Mexico, with Puerto Vallarta as our destination, where we could embrace a new lifestyle, explore, and create lasting memories together.
WHO IS
Traveling was a huge part of our lives before the kids came along. We even lived in Santiago, Chile, for a year to teach and explore, and we've visited many other countries, like the Philippines and the Republic of Georgia, just to name a couple. But settling down in an expensive city like Toronto made us worry that we wouldn't be able to share these valuable travel experiences with our children, and that just didn't feel right. Here we are, over a year later, living our dream life!
About Marc-André
Marc-André was born in Montreal, Québec, and grew up north of Toronto in Newmarket, Ontario. He was deeply involved in sports like basketball, baseball, hockey, and volleyball during his formative years. It was through traveling with his family that he developed a passion for different cultures and languages.
Marc pursued higher education at the University of Ottawa, studying Marketing and Business Administration. It was during this time that his interest in photography and fashion blossomed, often exploring local thrift stores to breathe new life into used clothes.
After more than a decade in the finance industry, Marc decided to break away from the corporate world and pursue a career as a freelance Virtual Assistant, Podcast and Video Editor, and Social Media Specialist. He also offers videography and photography services and serves as the editor for most content on More Life Diaries.
About Kathleen
Kathleen, originally from North York, Ontario, and raised in Newmarket, Ontario, has always been a bookworm with a passion for learning about new cultures. After studying literature at Wilfrid Laurier University, she spent over a decade in Management positions at a university. She has also worked abroad teaching English in Tiblisi, Republic of Georgia and in Santiago de Chile, Chile. Kathleen's career transitioned when she decided to freelance as a Virtual Assistant, blending her skills with her dedication to her family.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Kathleen is a health and fitness enthusiast, always seeking new ways to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Kathleen's journey reflects a spirit of curiosity, creativity, and determination, showcasing the power of following one's passions and embracing new opportunities with an open heart and mind.
Kathleen’s love for learning and dedication to her family are at the core of who she is. Her decision to pursue freelancing as a Virtual Assistant demonstrates her willingness to embrace change and seek fulfillment in both her personal and professional life.
About Bastien & Kali
Bastien, our 6-year-old, is incredibly creative and outgoing, quickly making friends wherever we go; he enjoys drawing, building structures with Legos, and playing with monster trucks, and he's fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
Kali, at 2 years old, is a bundle of energy like his brother, loving playtime and meeting new people; he fearlessly follows Bastien and is beginning to speak a mix of English and Spanish, with French soon to follow.
